Conference rooms and meeting rooms

A small meeting room and a boardroom solve different problems. A room for 6 to 10 people needs one display or a short-throw projector, a bar with a camera and microphone, and simple control. A boardroom seating several dozen brings in a congress system with a delegate unit at every seat, speaker queue management, minuting and recording, and sometimes voting and simultaneous interpretation.

Room acoustics decide speech intelligibility and are usually underestimated. In a room with concrete walls and glass, reverberation time is such that remote participants cannot make out speech regardless of how good the microphones are. We size the audio chain together with acoustic treatment, and check the microphone layout against feedback.

Control collapses into one touch panel with scenarios: presentation, video conference, meeting, shut everything down. A scenario switches sources, screens, lighting and blinds, so the room is run by an assistant rather than by a systems administrator.
