Solution

Lecture halls and classrooms

A teaching space differs from a meeting room in that different people use the equipment every day without preparation. What matters here is not the range of features but that the system starts with one button and never needs a technician called out.

The basic kit is a display and audio. An interactive panel suits smaller groups: it gives a readable image with the lights on and needs no blackout. A projection system wins on large diagonals in lecture theatres but requires the light output to be calculated against the room's illumination level.

Audio in a lecture hall exists to keep speech intelligible in the back rows. The lecturer's voice is reinforced through a radio microphone and distributed through ceiling or wall loudspeakers, with coverage calculated for evenness, so there are no spots that are too loud and no spots where nothing can be heard.

Lecture capture and streaming are added when distance learning or an archive is needed. A tracking camera follows the lecturer, a second stream carries the screen content, and both are recorded in sync and published to the learning system.

What the system consists of

  • Interactive panel or a projection system with a screen
  • Sound reinforcement with radio microphones for the lecturer
  • Tracking camera for recording and streaming
  • Source switching and laptop connection
  • Simple one-button control to bring the room to life

What the work covers

  • Sizing the display for the room and its lighting level
  • Audio coverage calculations
  • Supply, installation, cable routing
  • Commissioning and scenario configuration
  • Briefing for teaching staff
  • Maintenance and support
